Douglas Miles Joining The Crimson Captain Team

We're pleased and excited to announce that Douglas Miles is the newest staff writer and contributor here at The Crimson Captain.

Our stated mission here at The Crimson Captain is to provide comprehensive coverage of Sooner athletics, telling the stories of teams and moments both past and present. Douglas brings exactly the kind of approach to his craft and storytelling ability that aligns with that mission.

Douglas Miles is an Oklahoma native that has worked in sports journalism since 2006. Douglas currently serves as a correspondent for high school sports websites Your Prep Sports (Solon, Iowa), Scorebook Live Iowa and Scorebook Live Oklahoma, plus print publications such as The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier (Cedar Falls, Iowa), The News (Kalona, Iowa) and The Oklahoman (Oklahoma City, Okla.).

Previously, Douglas spent nearly a decade providing award-winning coverage for The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he covered University of Iowa/Iowa State University athletics and a variety of sports at the high school, amateur, small college and minor league professional levels.

Douglas has also had bylines published by the Telegraph Herald (Dubuque, Iowa), The Philadelphia Inquirer (Philadelphia, Pa.) and the official site of Minor League Baseball.
