Going Beyond The Stat Sheet - Defensive Ends

We have a team working on charting every offensive and defensive play in each game with the goal of giving you a thorough look at how the game unfolded from multiple angles and showing data that gets into the weeds in every aspect.
An example of this is information we pulled when a user on our Discord asked the question "what impact did the defensive ends have in the game?"
Based on the data we gathered, one of our team members offered the following breakdown:
In addition to the Downs FF, TFL, and Sack:
Trace Ford had a deflection on the 3rd drive, would have been an open receiver and a first down.
The Temple 5th drive at the end of the 1st/beginning of 2nd had outstanding play by RMT. He blew up the first play for a loss. Then he was in on the forced fumble to end that drive.
PJ blew up the 1st play of the 6th drive along w/ Dom Williams and that pushed the play back towards Omosigho. Not going to show up on stat sheet.
On the 8th drive that ended up with a fumble inside the 5 yard line, RMT was there with Dolby to get a safety. RMT worked for it, but it looked better for Dolby since the HB let him go by to set the screen up. Another good play that doesn't show up on stat sheet.
This covers just the first half, but if gives you a rough idea of what we're putting together; dissecting the game from multiple angles and giving you insight into impacts by players and position groups that go beyond the stat sheet.
We're just scratching the surface with this. Stay tuned for much more!
