Lebby Situation In Flux - Update Monday

We've heard from a few sources that Joe Castiglione has been fielding calls and emails from donor-level people, some of whom want Jeff Lebby fired immediately and others who are advocating for him.

It remains to be seen what Castiglione will decide and the situation remains fluid. We'll update this post as new information becomes available.

Update 6:30pm

I spoke with a source this afternoon and in this source's opinion, Joe C is not inclined to fire Jeff Lebby over this incident with Briles.

That said, there's a general feeling among several sources that Lebby is not helping himself right now, especially with the profile pic change. The profile pic and Lebby's overall tone in his press conference last night have some questioning whether Lebby is willing to do what they believe is best for the program and issue an apology.

Lebby is very well-liked by those within the administration, and based on the conversations I've had I believe they would prefer this be a learning experience for him.

Additionally, there is a strong belief among many on the donor level that firing him would very likely have a domino effect that could harm the school/program more.

Update 9/11

Based on a conversation with a source, I would be surprised if there's a resignation or firing at this point as cooler heads are prevailing. I'm told there will be statements at the upcoming press conference, and guidelines reiterated to Lebby about what is and isn't allowed.
