Friday September 8th marks the end of a long journey for Nigel Smith.

Nigel has been solid to OU for over a year. He told the coaches that he was going to take his visits and have fun with the process but since last summer there's been a quiet confidence among the staff that it would be OU in the end.

Several other schools such as Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Texas tried to pry him loose, but Nigel never gave the OU coaches reason to worry. So much so that when he took his official visits, he was filming during those trips with the intention of using some of those clips in his OU commitment video.

Texas was tipped off about this and told him not to bother with an OV to Austin, so he shut things down a month ago ahead of his announcement.

In a recruiting landscape where drama is the norm, Nigel Smith's recruitment has been anything but and that's by his design.
