In our team notes from last night we mentioned that Peyton Bowen is going to see an increased amount of snaps over the next few weeks. Let's dive into some stats that show how Bowen improved from week 1 to week 2, and what that could mean for the Sooners.

Bowen played almost twice as many snaps against SMU as he did against ASU, and he still managed to improve his grade across the board. One thing that stands out to me is the NFL passing grade on the far right hand side. This is the NFL passer rating, and indicates what a QB's rating was against a specific defender.
the ASU QB had an NFL passer rating of 95.8. Against ASU he improved that to 74.3. That's just one statistical category he showed improvement in, and it's backed up by what we've seen in film reviews.
The week-to-week improvement is encouraging especially for a freshman and it's no small feat considering that Bowen is being asked to play multiple positions in a game.
