Post-Game Thoughts

Some quick thoughts about what I saw today as the Sooners shut out Arkansas State

  • Linebacker and safety run fits were great all day long. Better than at any point last year

  • I'll go ahead and pat myself on the back a little bit about Kip Lewis. Sources indicated since spring that Lewis was positioning himself for a break out and we saw that today

  • Wide receiver room could quickly go from a question mark to a position of strength

  • Offensive line lived up to their fall camp hype

  • Dillon Gabriel was much more in sync and in command of the passing game than last season

  • Pass rush generated consistent pressure. The Red Wolves utilized a quick passing game and max protections that made getting sacks difficult, but there was consistent pressure. This line of thinking was backed up by Brent Venables in his press conference post-game.

More to come.
