Quick Thoughts - OU vs. BYU

1. OU looked unprepared to deal with the field conditions and apparently had zero ability to make an adjustment with the cleats if the original setup didn't work.

2. Worst defensive performance of the year and they still came up big in some critical moments.

3. Field conditions were the cause of a lot of the defensive issues. It hindered the offensive and defensive lines from getting explosion out of their stances and created issues with footing. Linebackers were late fitting gaps in part because they did not have their usual speed and explosion.

4. I thought Jeff Lebby called a decent game. Again, field conditions caused issues for the offensive line and skill players.

5. Despite the field conditions the OU offensive line was effective in the running game, with Gavin Sawchuk finishing with 107 yards on 14 carries.
