Team Note - Leadership on Offense

Offensively, the Bedlam loss has left many within the building searching for answers about how to fix what apparently has been broken since the bye week.
One source told me this morning there's a feeling among many that a leadership deficit on offense exists, that the offensive players don't feel the same connection with Lebby or the offensive staff that Venables has with the defense.
According to this source, the reported shouting match between DeMarco Murray and Tawee Walker was a symptom of this, and the downcast tone and open questioning by players of the offense's direction during postgame of Bedlam is just another tell-tale sign that something is amiss.
There's also a feeling from people I talk to that Venables' hands-off approach to offense and focus on the defense means he needs someone as Offensive Coordinator who is his equal or close to it in terms of leadership and experience.
Whether that's Lebby growing into that or someone else entirely is something Venables will have to determine in the off-season, and there's a growing sense that this decision in particular is what Venables' success or failure as HC will hinge on.
Winning cures all and this team is in bad need of a W.
